In line with its efforts to empower women and bridge the gender digital gap, and to enhancing women's role in the technology sector and other key areas, Zain Jordan has launched the fourth edition of its “Women in Tech" program. This initiative is designed for female university students specializing in STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) and digital innovation, aimed at supporting them in building successful career paths across a wide range of future professions.
The "Women in Tech" program is part of Zain Jordan's broader efforts to foster economic growth and transition towards a knowledge-based economy that includes all members of society. It also seeks to elevate women's roles in the community and workforce by highlighting their contributions to the field and empowering them economically and socially through opportunities and resources that enable their success in the tech sector.
Launched in 2017, the “Women in Tech" program offers an array of lectures and workshops that equip participants with diverse and essential skills for entering the job market. This year's edition covers cutting-edge topics such as AI, Data Science, Digital Transformation and 5G technology, led by Zain experts.
Zain recently conducted the latest edition of its “Women in Tech" program, delivering it in two dynamic phases. The first phase combined in-person and virtual workshops and lectures, providing participants with flexible access to the training sessions. The second phase, held in collaboration with Hashemite University at Zain's headquarters, focused on advanced topics including artificial intelligence, data science and analytics, digital transformation, and 5G technology. Launched in 2017, the “Women in Tech" initiative aims to equip women with critical skills for the modern job market, with this year's program led by Zain's top experts across various fields.
To date, the program has benefited 381 participants. In addition to this initiative, Zain Jordan has launched and supported several programs aimed at empowering women and strengthening their societal role. The company has provided backing for the “Banat Connect" program, which educates displaced and refugee women in Jerash Camp by offering free internet services to participants. Over 2,000 women have benefited from Zain's support for this initiative.
Moreover, for the past four years, Zain, through its innovation platform ZINC and in collaboration with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), has held workshops on safe usage of smart devices titled “Me and My Mobile." These workshops target underprivileged women in Amman and other governorates, contributing to digital literacy among young women. As of this year, more than 169 women and girls have benefited from the program.
