Amman, October 23, 2023: In continuation of its continuous support and solidarity with the people in the Gaza Strip, Zain Jordan today changed the name of its network to appear on subscribers' phones as "Gaza."
This symbolic move by the company is part of a series of initiatives launched towards the people in the Gaza Strip, reflecting the unified Jordanian stance towards their just cause. This morale-boosting gesture is part of the efforts to support the brothers and sisters in Gaza in the face of the ongoing aggression.
Zain had previously launched a donation campaign in collaboration with the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization. The campaign is still ongoing, allowing Zain customers to contribute through individual lines, whether prepaid or postpaid, by dialing (#710*). Postpaid customers can choose the donation amount to be added to their bill, while prepaid customers can donate by entering the desired amount through the same menu.
Zain announced that it would make a cash donation equivalent to the total amount collected from its subscribers' donations during this campaign. The funds will be directed to purchase and provide necessary medical supplies, medicines, and basic provisions through the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization for delivery to the people in the Gaza Strip.
Zain has also provided all its subscribers, including individuals, companies, and prepaid users, with 1000 free calling minutes to connect with the Palestine mobile network. This initiative aims to enable Zain's customers to stay in constant communication with their loved ones in Palestine and support their resilience, especially in the current situation.
Additionally, Zain Cash, in collaboration with the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization, allows all users of its wallet to donate through the "Zain Cash" application. Users can enter the donation menu in the app, choose the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization, and enter the desired donation amount. The organization will then ensure the delivery of these donations to the resilient people in Gaza.
Zain organized an internal fundraising campaign among its employees to contribute to providing support for the people of Gaza. The company is committed to utilizing all available resources and harnessing the efforts of its employees to alleviate the suffering of the resilient people in Gaza, continuing its national and humanitarian role in line with the unified Jordanian position under the Hashemite leadership. Last Monday, Zain Jordan organized a solidarity stand in front of its building on King Abdullah II Street in the capital, Amman. The event was attended by the CEO, executives, and all Zain employees and included a one-minute silence for the martyrs who lost their lives in Gaza and various beloved cities of Palestine, expressing solidarity with the people amid the hardships they are facing.
