Amman, December 6th, 2023: Zain Jordan has officially announced the commencement of its 5G network services across several regions in the Kingdom. This launch marks the commercial availability of 5G services to its customers and subscribers following the successful completion of all trial phases and necessary testing. Zain aims to introduce this advanced technology to the Kingdom efficiently, ensuring the trust of its customers and subscribers who seek excellence and the latest in communication technologies.
Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, H.E. Ahmed Hanandeh, expressed his pride and satisfaction with Zain's announcement of the official launch of the 5G network across several areas in the Kingdom. He highlighted this as a significant and distinctive addition to the telecommunications and information technology infrastructure in Jordan. Hanandeh acknowledged Zain's continuous efforts in supporting and advancing the telecommunications sector, directly and indirectly contributing to accelerating economic growth, social stability, fostering an environment for entrepreneurship, creativity, and innovation.
Hanandeh emphasized that 5G services offer more than just high-speed connectivity and data download capabilities. He stated that they have proven to be a genuine catalyst for advancing businesses and services across various industries and sectors, enhancing the productivity of economic sectors. Additionally, he highlighted that 5G constitutes a fundamental element for the success of the digital transformation process in both the public and private sectors, accommodating the significant increase in internet usage in Jordan.
Eng. Bassam Fadil Al-Sarhan, Chairman of the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission Board of Commissioners, praised Zain for launching 5G services, considering it a Jordanian success story. He emphasized how this move supported private sector investment following the settlement agreement, ultimately fostering a technologically advanced telecommunications sector aligned with global developments.
Al-Sarhan stated that enabling the provision of these services will have a positive impact across all sectors. It will empower individuals and institutions to access services requiring high speeds. He also highlighted that employing 5G technologies will facilitate access to innovative services such as artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, and applications for digital products, supporting the development of smart cities in the near future. Furthermore, he emphasized that this initiative would accelerate and ensure the success of the digital transformation process, aligning with Jordan's royal vision for 2025.

The company detailed its extensive coverage of various regions in the Kingdom with the latest 5G networks, utilizing advanced technologies like the 64T64R Massive MIMO Antenna. This deployment, particularly in Amman's vital and central areas, ensures the best experience for Zain's individual and business customers.
Zain emphasized its ongoing efforts to expand coverage to new areas by 2024, intending to achieve comprehensive coverage across all provinces, providing speeds of up to 1.7 Gbps, ten times faster than 4G networks.
Zain's 5G network provides immense capacity for its business users, enabling access to innovative solutions and services such as augmented and virtual reality technologies, automation, robotics, support for Internet of Things (IoT) applications, VPN over 5G, and artificial intelligence applications. This technology will serve various sectors, including finance, transportation, security, construction, agriculture, healthcare, among others. Zain has introduced its 5G services for both individual customers and business sectors through a range of exclusive and distinctive packages starting from 22 JDs. These packages offer speeds starting from 200 megabits per second and reaching unlimited speeds. Subscribers have the option to select suitable devices equipped with advanced WIFI6 technology, including routers or portable routers (Mi-Fi).
Additionally, Zain exclusively and for the first time in Jordan is offering fixed wireless access for home internet users through an external receiver device characterized by high efficiency. This enables users to experience uninterrupted high-speed fixed internet usage.
Last year, Zain Jordan conducted the initial live operation test of the 5G network in the Kingdom following the signing of an agreement with the government, represented by the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission, in preparation for the introduction of 5G services to the country. The 5G network was activated after completing all trials and ensuring the efficiency of the service. Zain selected "Nokia" to supply its 5G network equipment throughout the Kingdom.
