Amman, February 25, 2025: As part of its ongoing commitment to supporting the education and youth sectors in Jordan, and in line with its mission to empower young people both socially and economically, Zain Jordan has been offering intensive free training courses for 17 years in collaboration with the Vocational Training Corporation, The College of Advanced Vocational Training, and UNRWA. These courses provide training on mobile device maintenance, gaming console repair (PlayStation and Xbox), and fiber optic technology.
The initiative aligns with Zain Jordan's commitment to equip both Jordanian females and males' youth with essential vocational and technical skills, assisting them continuously to develop their expertise to meet the evolving market demands. This contributes to improving individual incomes, reducing unemployment and poverty rates, and fostering national economic growth. The program supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly the first goal “No Poverty", the 4th goal “Quality Education", 8th goal “Decent Work and Economic Growth", and the 17th goal “Partnerships for the Goals", reinforcing Zain ongoing programs and initiatives that are integrated into SDG's.
The free training courses are offered at Zain's six centers located in Zarqa, Irbid -The college of Advanced Vocational Training - Hakma, Tafileh, Karak, and Salt governorates, and at Zain's center in Wadi ASeer Training College – UNRWA, for Palestinian refugees. Each course runs for up to six months, totaling 700 training hours covering both theoretical and practical aspects under the supervision of experts a technical trainer. Participants gain advanced technical skills, enabling them to enter the job market and to start their own businesses. Graduates receive certified licenses to practice these professions and secure job opportunities immediately upon completion. Additionally, Zain Jordan facilitates employment connections between graduates and companies operating in the mobile and gaming device sectors. The company also covers transportation costs for students upon course completion and provides all necessary maintenance tools and equipment.
To date, over 2,000 young men and women have benefited from these courses, with an average employment rate of 60% among graduates, according to VTC statistics.
