Jordan Media Institute for next year, was signed during a luncheon held in the presence of HRH Princess Reem Al Ali.
Signing the agreement on behalf of Zain was the company CEO Dr. Abdel Makel Al Jaber and on behalf of the Jordan Press Union was its head Abdel Wahab Zgheilat. The agreement was signed in the presence of the union’s board members and representatives from the local media and management board members from the Jordan Media Institute.
Al Jaber said that the agreement shows the mutual respect between the company and the journalists body, noting that the agreement comes to consolidate this relationship and represents a successful model of the cooperation between the private and public sectors and the social civil institutions which the union is part of. “Zain looks to the continuation of its cooperation with the union” Al Jaber said.
On his part, Head of the Jordan Press Union Abdelwahab Zgheilat thanked Zain on its initiatives, pointing out that the agreement is building towards a new direction of cooperation between both the union and Zain, through which the latter manifests its policy of corporate social responsibility. Zgheilat also urged other company to follow Zain’s suit in launching new initiatives that are socially responsible towards Jordanians.
As per the agreement, Zain will also university grants for the current academic year for two of the union’ members who have received an approval form one of the universities in Jordan.
The initiative comes to consolidate the social responsibility policy that Zain adopts and that is focused on supporting the local community in a way that is in line with the main role that the company undertakes to promote the local telecommunications sector.
Zain has adopted the preparation of the training room and lab situated at the Jordan press union. The company provided the union with computers and display screen as well as WiFi connection through its internet arm.
